For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7) http://bibl.co/2003
You could never convince me that there isn’t a God. I’ve proved it sooo many times and this morning is no different.
I was faced with a trip that I wasn’t looking forward to particularly. It was supposed to be a fun trip but as it’s happened a few times recently I allowed my fears to become bigger than faith.
As my daughter chattered happily around me and impatiently counted down the time, inside my stomach was a mass of knots and dread. After what might have been my 3rd trip to the bathroom, I pleaded with God.
Please remove this fear from me. Give me a spirit of living faith. Let me not just talk the talk but walk the walk. I filled my mind with texts and songs to bolster my spirit. I knew that I couldn’t do it on my own.
Fast forward a couple of hours later, I am sending my husband a goodbye message when I notice my daily Bible Promises app pop up. And it was the text above.
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
My God cared enough to give me a tangible reminder that he is concerned with MY concerns.
I couldn’t ask for anything more.
P.S. I had a wonderful time that I would have missed out on had I let my fear overcome me.
