As an island girl, I am particularly fond of the imagery in the picture above.
The surf rushing up and onto the sand and inevitably rolling back out makes me think of what Jesus longs to do for us.
He longs to rush in and wash away our fears and our worries, our cares and our anxieties.
I imagine that it is painful for Him to watch us in depression and despair. How He must long to take our burdens away.
He tells us, “My peace I leave with you…I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 (NIV)
He invites us, “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you…you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29 (NLT)
Finally, the apostle urges us, “Cast all your cares upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
If only we would let go and let Him.
Despite what you are going through right now, know that peace is possible.
All you need to do is reach out; His hand is already outstretched.
