When I consider the goodness of God, I can’t help but give Him praise.
This time last week, I was a frazzled mess, anticipating the pile on my plate in the week ahead.
Crazy right? Then I remembered.
We are told in Matthew 6:34a, “Do not worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself.” (CEV)
So which was it going to be? I had a choice to make.
Was I going to take God at His word or not?
I chose to put my faith and trust in Him.
Every time the frantic thoughts tried to slip in, I recited a scripture promise.
Folks, we can’t just be hearers [and readers] of The Word, we must be doers also. James 1:22 (NIV) says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
I can’t explain the peace that came over me. It’s the kind that only God can give.
“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 (NLT)
And that set the tone for my week.
Every day, hour after hour, I claimed God’s faithfulness and His promises over my life.
And today, I can testify that He came through for me.
It won’t always be easy. Doubt and fear will try to creep in. But like the father in the Bible who sought deliverance for his son, ask the Lord, “…help me overcome my unbelief.” Mark 9:24a (NIV) [IT worked for me this week!]
Friends, He can come through for you too.
Just have faith!
Don’t take MY word for it.
Try it for yourself!
