And the Moral of the Story is…

Recently, I was looking for an important document, and my need was urgent. So I immediately set out to search the area where I was reasonably sure that I had left it last.

But I didn’t find it.

I searched twice again before giving up to search other areas. The latter I did halfheartedly because I was pretty sure that it was not there.

It wasn’t.

Frustrated, I decided to try the original location one last time, but THIS time (SMH) I chose to pray about it. “Lord, I need to find this document. Please help me!”

You may not believe me when I tell you that the moment I opened the cupboard door, my eyes landed on the envelope with the document that I needed.

I could not believe it.

Partly because I was floored that my prayer had been answered instantly.

Partly because I must have passed the envelope so many times in my previous searches.

Partly because I wondered why I hadn’t asked God’s help FIRST!

Partly because I was annoyed about the time I wasted all because I hadn’t done what I should have done.

Friend, there is NOTHING too trivial for God. We have a habit of delegating the “big” things to Him, and keeping the “little” things to ourselves.

But God is interested in EVERY aspect of our lives.

So the moral of the story is – next time, pray FIRST!

“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
Isaiah 65:24 NIV
