“…be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2 KJV
Change. Metamorphosis. Transitioning from one state of being to the other.
This can be an exciting time. But it can also be terrifying.
There is something comforting about what we know. This is probably why we hold on to our sinful state for so long. It’s our comfort zone.
The Christian life requires a true leap of faith. The unknown can be scary; this is why we are encouraged to, “Look[ing] unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who…is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Sometimes we say we want to change, but are we willing to submit ourselves?
Metamorphosis also requires sacrifice. We’ve got to give up something. The things we used to do, we can’t do them anymore.
Other times the change can be painful. Old habits die hard. Sadly, we could lose our friends, family, status or job as a result.
But what we gain, is indescribable!
We are told that,”…Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
At the end of the day, the question that needs to be answered is, how badly do you want it?
